Kid Rock & 3 Skinnee J’s, Ep. 12

November 1st, 2010

On this episode of The Brouhaha, Kid Rock channels his inner Beastie; Jim (the first skinnee J) talks with Music Choice's Justin Prager (the second skinnee J) about interning at Capitol Records, programming music videos for MTV, and prognosticating about the Beastie Boys' new album, Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 2; and John (the third skinnee J) tries his hand at "20 Questions."

(left to right:  Kid Rock's under-appreciated, college-radio fav The Polyfuze Method; Kid Rock gracing the cover of Grand Royal, and Justin and Jim cold lampin' with Flavor Flav—who unfortunately is not on this episode of The Brouhaha.)

Did KidRock just say he did the beat for LL’s “I need a Beat”?

I always understood that AdRock did that???

Just wanted to say I love the show and would like a shot at 20 Questions. I also wanted to know if you are a fan of 2 Skinnee J’s. I have seen those guys many times. They put on an incredible show. Keep up the good work. Thanks- Curti$

It’s sad but true that their stuff just isn’t accepted on most of those “hip hop” airwaves nowadays, but who cares.

It reminds me of when TT5B came out, and the ch-check it out video was out there. It was on the MTV2 Rock countdown… the rock countdown. None of that record is even remotely “rock”

This may even have been around the time you were with mtv, Jim. I think I remember you hosting it a few times.

I remember reading that on their old site FAQs saying “Don’t refer to them as Beasties. If you must abbreviate please use ‘B-Boys.”

    Just saying.

great show, but kid rock’s weak. he pimped hiphop to gain fame and then turned country. mike d’s attempt at country was a goof, kid rock’s is just goofy!
