Great show! I love Cey as reoccurring guest..maybe a co-host some day? something to think about. I think each Beastie record captures a moment in time for them. This song(make some noise) and the record (HSCPT2) is a direct reflection of the mix up tour and sessions. It seems like they got to being a band …playing, jamming and all that good stuff. Now I have been I fan since LTI but I felt the formula they achieved on CYH, IC and even HN where they played stuff, sampled them those moments to get that gritty dusty”hip hop” sound was when they were at there best. It defined them. Just as TT5B was great that it captured the bboys being a hip hop group again . That record was inspired by their 9/11 shows just rocking mics and turntables. At the end of the day I think that record suffered a bit from that..not being as organic. The Hot Sauce Committee PT 2 is the return to true greatness.

Totally agree. “Organic” seems to be the keyword for HSC, Pt. 2. Home-grown beats, home-grown rhymes.
